Technology
The effects of sun exposure on our skin begin from
our earliest days of basking in its warming rays. Over time,
exposure to the sun’s ultraviolet radiation can damage the
outer protective skin barrier and also damage the innermost
layers of skin. Deep in the skin, UV light can break down
collagen and elastin, the structural proteins that maintain
the skin’s firmness and smoothness. This results in the
formation of fine lines, deep wrinkles and sagging. In
addition, UV exposure can result in uneven skin tones
including freckles and dark sun spots.
