The Thermacool Skin Lift procedure works by delivering a volumetric and uniform heating effect to the deep dermis via a unique form of radio frequency energy. The procedure is intended to cause immediate collagen contraction followed by gradual collagen tightening to lift skin without wounding the epidermis (top skin layer). Simultaneously a cryogen spray cools the skin's surface before, during and after each radio frequency pulse to further protect the epidermis.

The THERMACOOL SKIN LIFT PROCEDURE is offered as an outpatient procedure which usually takes 2 hours in our office. Topical anesthetic creams are used without the need for shots. The most common treatment covers the entire face and neck. Regional treatments can also be performed to target areas such as drooping forehead, crow's feet lines and sagging neck skin. Patients who begin to notice looseness around the jowls or cheek areas as well as drooping eyes can benefit from the treatment. People with more advanced signs of aging are going to benefit from minimally invasive surgical procedures such as Dr. Newman's endoscopic forehead lift or mini-facelift.

One of the biggest advantages for Dr. Newman's patients is the fact that our office offers more choices today to reverse and slow down the outward signs of aging. The majority of patients see results after 4 weeks with peak results achieved at 3-4 months after treatment. Clinical results remain evident for one year and our long term patients are showing results at 2 years. The best candidates for the Thermacool are patients in the early stages of skin loosening and formation of jowls usually in the 3rd to 4th decade of life. Age alone is not the only criteria for selection; Skin quality and degree of sun damage and facial volume are important criteria for Dr. Newman to evaluate.
