Sculptra - A Treatment For Facial Fat Loss

Sculptra® is an enduring treatment approved by the FDA for restoration and/or correction of the signs of facial fat loss, or lipoatrophy, in people with human immunodeficiency virus. It is the first FDA-approved product of its kind for this condition.

Facial fat loss, or lipoatrophy, is the loss of fat beneath the skin, which can result in sunken cheeks, indentations, and hollow eyes. Dr. Newman uses Sculptra for patients needing larger areas of facial volume correction when fat injections are not available or appropriate for patients. It is important to understand that a series of 5-7 injection sessions are needed to achieve desirable results. These treatments are done 3-4 weeks apart. The cost of Sculptra treatments $1200 per treatment session. Most patients can expect to budget between $6000-$7500 for full treatment.
