Jill L. Hessler, MD
|
Dr. Hessler
takes great satisfaction in helping her patients achieve their
desired goals. As a facial plastic surgeon, Dr. Hessler has spent
the last 8 years of her practice dedicated to the surgical
refinement of the face and neck.
She received training in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at
Washington University in St. Louis, one of the highest ranked
training programs in Otolaryngology in the United States. During her
residency, she was selected to be the Administrative Chief Resident,
an honor given to only one resident per year. While she enjoyed the
complex and varied operations of Otolaryngology, she found her
passion to reside in the artistic aspects in the subspecialty field
of facial aesthetic surgery. She was selected for the highly
competitive fellowship in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery
at the University of Michigan under the tutelage of world-renowned
surgeon, Dr. Shan Baker. During her fellowship, she developed a
refined appreciation for subtleties in aesthetic facial structure
and proportion, and she perfected her surgical skills in cosmetic
surgical procedures, such as Rhinoplasty, Facelifts, Blepharoplasty,
Chemical Peels, Facial Rejuvenation and Skin Cancer Reconstruction.
Upon completion of fellowship, Dr. Hessler was recruited back to
Washington University to specialize in Facial Plastic and Cosmetic
Surgery. As a member of the faculty, she trained numerous surgeons,
lecturing and demonstrating her meticulous technique and approach to
cosmetic procedures. She has also been invited to be on the faculty
at many medical courses, training national and international
surgeons to perform plastic surgery procedures, including advanced
rhinoplasty, blepharoplasty and facelifting. She also serves at a
national level on committees within the American Academy of Facial
Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
Dr. Hessler has received numerous honors and awards over the years.
She was selected by her peers as one of the Best Doctor's in America
for 2007-2008. Her other awards include the Glasgow Women in
Medicine Prize, the Washington University Scholastic Prize, and
membership into the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. With
her interest in research, she was also awarded the National
Institutes of Health Training Award and the Memorial Sloan Kettering
Training Award.
Most recently, Dr. Hessler moved to the Bay Area with her husband, a
Stanford faculty surgeon, and their eight-month son. She is very
happy to be living and working in the beautiful Bay Area and is
excited to offer her expertise to clients in this region of the
country. She offers the latest in minimally invasive procedures in
addition to traditional techniques with the experience gained from
having performed over 2,000 operations. While providing a discreet
environment to her private clientele at Premier Plastic Surgery,
she also continues to be active in teaching at Stanford, where she
is a member of the adjunct clinical faculty.
Despite her rigorous training and busy working schedule, Dr. Hessler
never fails to make time for her family. She enjoys hiking, running,
cooking and spending time outdoors with her husband and son.
All patients praise Dr. Hessler for her personal approach to patient
care and surgery. She takes time to listen carefully to the patient
at each consultation and is able to tailor her care for every
lifestyle. She understands how busy life can be and makes every
effort to accommodate your schedule. She looks forward to seeing you
in consultation! |
