Laser Vessel Treatment

Unsightly Blemishes
Many benign skin lesions such as unsightly blood vessels, birthmarks, port wine stains, red spots, warts, freckles, sunspots, skin tags and old age spots can now be treated easily and effectively with our state of the art lasers. Treatment with specific wavelength lasers can be performed in the office after an accurate diagnosis has been made. Some lesions require test patches to be performed and may require multiple visits. The most common lesions treated are vascular lesions and pigmented lesions.

Visible Blood Vessels
Vascular lesions consist of blood vessels beneath the surface of the skin. They may appear pink, red or bluish in color and show up either as discrete individual vessels, spider vessels or as a large patch. These lesions lend themselves ideally to laser treatments because the visible components of blood absorb the energy of the laser. When this occurs, the vessels blanch and disappear. In some cases the result is immediate while others take place over time. More than one treatment is sometimes required. Pigmented lesions appear as darker areas of the skin. Some of the most common are freckles and age spots. These may be flat on the skin or slightly elevated. Lesions such as these will be carefully evaluated so that any cancerous or pre-malignant conditions are effectively addressed. Common lesions such as freckles and age spots respond very well to laser treatment.
